Does my building project need Health Department approval?

For buildings in non-sewered areas, the building department will not allow any construction (including foundation installation) to begin until the health district has approved a septic system design plan. Please submit the following to initiate the permit review and approval process:
  1. One copy of the septic system site plan design with an Application for Plan Review  .
  2. One (1) copy of the proposed building plans.
  3. A completed Septic System Permit Application   for a permit to construct a septic system.
  4. Both the fee for the plan review and the fee for the permit application. (Fee Schedule)

Plans for new projects on properties served by public sewers do not need review from the health department.
